End-of-life for Shot Logger

From 2007 to 2023, Shot Logger facilitated the analysis of visual style in film and television. The project has now (November 1, 2023) reached its end of life.

At its peak, Shot Logger contained a database of editing statistics for 1,086 instances of 332 films and TV programs and a gallery of 381,698 screen shots (individual frames from every shot in those films/TV programs).

One statistic Shot Logger generated was average shot length or ASL. As of September 5, 2019, the ASL of 381,698 logged shots was 6.04.

The data that Shot Logger generated are still available for download, but going forward we will not be generating any new analyses.
