Analyzing Visual Style

Shot Logger facilitates the analysis of visual style in film and television.

It contains a database of editing statistics for 732 instances of 151 films and TV programs and a gallery of 186,205 frame captures (individual frames from every shot in those films/TV programs).

One statistic Shot Logger generates is average shot length or ASL. As of 19 April 2013, the ASL of 186,205 logged shots is 6.20 seconds. ASLs of individual films and TV episodes may be found in our data table.
